Mastering

Mastering, a form of audio post-production, is the process of preparing and transferring recorded audio from a source containing the final mix to a data storage device (the master); the source from which all copies will be produced (via methods such as pressing, duplication or replication). Recently, the format choice includes using digital masters although analog masters, such as audio tapes, are still being used by the manufacturing industry and by a few engineers who have chosen to specialize in analog mastering.[Source: Wikipedia]

In this set you will find an example of mastering* by us. It was a mixdown (good quality) delivered and then we have mastered this track.

Stem-Mastering

Stem-mastering is a technique derived from stem mixing. Just like in stem-mixing, the individual audio tracks are grouped together to allow for independent control and signal processing of each stem and can be manipulated independently from each other. [Source: Wikipedia]

In this set you will find an example of the stem-mastering. After us, the producer, the subgroups (or buses) sent his tracks, we have worked these subgroups, and then made a master of it. The first track in this set is a preview of the producer before the stem-mastering by us.

Mixing

In audio recording, audio mixing is the process by which multiple recorded sounds are combined into one or more channels, most commonly 2-channel stereo. In the process, the source signals’ level, frequency content, dynamics, and panoramic position are manipulated and effects such as reverb may be added. This practical, aesthetic, or otherwise creative treatment is done in order to produce a mix that is more appealing to listeners. [Source:Wikipedia]

In this set you will find an example of the new mixing* a track and the subsequent mastering by us. There were mixed all the single tracks and re-mastered it. There is also the possibility of a stem-mixing**. Since the subgroups are mixed. We thus have the opportunity to better the subgroups (or buses) to intervene.
