Zeyad easy lie switches between cultures: “Masked People” is the first album of this Bahrain-based producer. He combines heavy, curved chords and clean synthetic sounds of Western dance music with casual and wraps all of it over a shuffling skeleton made of playful house claps and clicks. “Masked People” breathes colored oriental, oppressive synth chords and driving percussions in the room while it remains honest and authentic in all spheres. The tracks on “Masked People” work on the dance floor as well as on the couch – as an album or a single track. The intro “Dragon Fly” is getting straight to the point and shows where the journey starts. In waves towards the direction of drifting framed, narrated smart playfulness. “Masked People” is an ode to the ease the morning after a long club night. Fresh, but melancholy. Hyperbole, but somehow soft. Real relaxation, because somehow all know that nobody here has something to prove, but it still goes any further. Arabic flair and clean tech-house attitude.
